According to the new European Union's CLP directive (1272/2008) the hazard related labeling of many household products will propably change within the next years.
Many products might be labelled with hazard symbols that overestimate the poisoning risk, especially the risk of chemical burns. This might lead to unnecessary medical treatment and, in consequence, to an increased risk for adverse health effects - in contract to the directive's basic intention.
To contribute to an appropriate labelling of products in the future the GIZ-Nord Poisons Centre contributes to the
- Multinational Retrospektive Analysis of Poisons Centres' Data of Eye Lesions Caused by Machine Dish Washing Agents and other Cleaning Products (MAGAM)
